Summer Love

As if Malaysia isn't hot enough, oh man,,,the heat here is too much. Especially when theres no airconditioning, of a ceiling fan. You can imagine. Well the picture below is self explanatory, thats what the guy at the shop told me about assembling this thing. Oh man, the feeling i got when the fan blades started spinning, total bliss, total satisfaction, totally cool.....
Its a stand fan..thats it(hehe).Have to drink a lot more bottles of water a day.
Well until the winter arrives, the blades will be spinning a lot more, and water will be flowing in me.
Peace out.

Packing memories

Ahh...a beautiful site....
Well packing hasn't always been a favorite of mine. Now i wish i had started earlier, things just keep adding on, things i forget to take, things i dont need to take but i've kept deep inside the suitcase. Its like a project, without planning and organisation, it'll turn out to be a mess. Whew...its almost half done here. With a 20 kilo limit always stuck in my head, i've got to stuff things in here, and make it feel less than the limit.
Its been a great holiday , a long one. Starting to miss Perth, hehe...
Some things have made this holiday a memorable one if you know what i mean, family and friends. Hope we can keep it going...

To friends old and new,
Thanks, it would'nt have been the same without you ...
Until then , i'll be prith in perth , posting my perthy posts.(Say that fast)...

Good luck ....
Keep tagging and commenting and mailing...

Breathtaking television viewing!!

Know what i mean...its cricket ofcourse!!

Television has never been better, ofcourse other than the real thing...
Since the first ODI started, the smell of a fresh duce ball and red paint has been spreading around.

The series started off with the exhiliarating batting of the Pakistan team and amazing bowling, especially from Asif and all rounder Razzaq. The amzing duo put the Indians under a tremendous amount of pressure. India fought back, but couldn't reach the target, this was prevented by the bowlers mentioned above. The match came to an amazing end with Inzamam sent off for blocking a ball and result on the Duckworth and Lewis rule.Light was shed by Irfan Pathan on the Indian bowling, with his early wicket taking and credit goes also to R.P. Singh. On the go commentary by the former cricket legends ; Dean Jones,Michael Holding,Waqar Younis,Rameez Raja,S.Ramakrishnan juiced up the match with some rare facts.

The second match was another match that didnt let us down(i.e on excitement). Both teams outdoing the other, this time it was the Indians who got the lead ,as they chased a great but possible score set by their counterparts. We saw some amazing shots by some surprising players. More like it was a game for the tailenders rather than the openers. As the small indian crowds together with the pakistan fans cheered for their respective teams, the tension and sweat broke out as both fans cheered out their best and players played their best to stop their opponents. In the end, the target was achieved with much ease.

Arriving on the third day at the day/night match in the beautiful city of Lahore, Toss won by the visitors and decided to field. Allowed the home players to acheive a score of 288. A really good score but not an impossible one to beat. Wickets fell early for the Pakistanis as the Indian bowlers played their magic. The magic ran out though ,down the order of batsmen of Pakistan as the wicketkeeper and batsman, Kamran Akmal, showed his magic, and what an amzing show he pulled off. Making chocolate cake and sprinkling with frosting out of the the Indian bolwing and fielding was also to blame as there were more than three occasions where catches were dropped.
Walking back to the dressing room, both teams got ready to put thier master plan into fifth gear with turbo...and some high octane fuel.

Indians batted and fell quickly as Pakistani bowlers sent them walking over the boundary, tagging a new player to enter the battlefield arena.
Winds beagn to change as the sun began to set ,and the floodlights took over. The little master,Sachin Tendulkar played his game like his first match, partnering with Rahul who made runs and got run out.
The show was stolen by the aggresive partnership of M.S.Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh.
Whipping fours out of the balls. Dhoni couldn't have played his heart out at a better time. These two players took the match to a victory for India with over to spare and kept five other batsmen at bay.

The series is lead by the Indians at 2-1, with two more games to go....ANYTHING can happen.

With best wishes to both teams , hope for a another exciting match...

The thing about Cricket....Howzaat? Want to try your hand with a bat, play cricket online, click here!!

Cricket

Introduced by the British to their "Empire", with Countries like India, Australia,Pakistan,Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, New Zealand and other ex-colonies of the British and the current members of the commonwealth.

Well here's the thing, this game is about scoring runs when you have the bat in your hand and getting wickets(getting people out) when you have the ball in your hand.

11 players on each team(excluding reserves - usually 5), with 2 teams. Each team gets to bat and bowl. 3 umpires , with two umpires on the field and another infront of replay camera screens to confirm a decision if the other two umpires are unable to come to a decision

Some terms to know:

i)an OVER - is made up of 6 balls (in ODI's, 50 overs are bowled)

ii) A RUN - When both batsmen run the whole length of the pitch once

iii)4 RUNS - When the ball , hit by the batsman reaches the
boundary with one or more bounces.

iv)6 RUNS - When the ball hit by the batsman falls beyond the boundary without any bounces.

v) 2 or 3 RUNS - The maximum number of runs that can be achieved by physically running between wickets is 3.

vi) OUT -

a)When the ball bowled from the bowler hits the wickets, known as bowled out.
b)When the ball hit by the batsmen is caught by a field or wicketkeeper before it hits the ground.
c)When the batsmen blocks the ball from the wickets with the use of his leg pads known as LBW ( Leg Before Wicket). Usually decided by the umpire.
d)When the fielder or wicket keeper hits the wicket with the ball before the batsmen is able to complete his run. This is known as RUN OUT.

vii) Wide
When a ball is bowled a certain distance away from the batsman. A run is given to the batting side in return.

viii) No Ball
When the bowler crosses a line on the path on which he is bowling. A batsman cannot get out on this ball. Another ball is awarded to the batsman.

There are 2 kinds of games in cricket : 1.Test Match
2.One day internationals(ODI)

1. Test Matches are 5 days long. The goal of the test match is to score as many runs as possible and then hand over the bat to the other team and see if they can beat that score. A team can win in two ways in a test match;

a)By beating the score made by the opposing team,
b)Bowling all the opposing players out before they beat their score.

The game can end in a draw, which is common in test cricket, although this kind of draw is not like football or any other sport.

The teams will draw the game, if a team is unable to bowl all the players out and that team is unable to make the required runs before the specified time.

2. One day internationals(ODI's)

This version is the more exciting version of cricket. Where there can only be two kinds of results , either a win or a draw and very rarely is there a draw.

The first team to bat will have to the task of making a score that will be difficult for the opponent to overcome. At the same time the opponents will try to prevent a significant score with their bowling. Each team is allowed 50 overs to bowl.

Fielding

Theres a name for almost all the positions on the field in cricket. These are most common places a team is placed for fielding.
