Shelf your ideas...

And so ends the saga of the shelf, after hitting some dead ends i finally managed to get the wood and the right sized bolts to officially call it a "safe to use" shelf..

Its still not complete as i have procrastinated the paint job, its white for the moment...
Other than that, here are some visuals..

These brackets are quite sturdy, needs to be bolted from the inside of the cupboard.

Heres the finished product...

Joga Bonito - Futsal

After some time , we all got together a match of futsal...
It was great as some just started their mid term break from uni like ehaab.
Ahmed and co had arrived late (as usual hehe)..

The game started off seriously, each team equalising their goals...then it got crazy....we all kinda lost our seriousness and played more for fun....which makes the game of futsal addictive..

Here are some pics after the game, recooperating, rejuvinating and relaxing in our own ways...

Then there was.....a switch!!

Ahhh....the long awaited, much anticipated, spine-rattling suspense and romantic story of THE switch.

There needs to be a sad ending to a story for there to be a happy ending, and this my friends is the happy ending. What started off with short circuits and frustration, ended in success and happiness.

The switch has been installed and i am proud to say that once again i am in control of light.

This is the photo of the switch i purchased - RM 2.90

And so the chapter of the light and switch comes to an end(not sure for how long) and the saga continues with the installation of a shelf..

Yes, i'm installing a shelf on the side of my cupboard to maximise space.

I will blog about it as soon as i manage to get some wood;)

Holiday HandyWork

Painting and Installing light in your wardrobe

Step 1

Get paint and paintbrush - It doesnt cost much to get some low quality paint and a small brush from the nearby hardware store.

Step 2

Get Light Sockets and Light Bulbs - this idea came to me spontaneously as i was painting the shelves of the cupboard, why not make this place a little brighter, and as before i was surprised how cheap these things come(2 bulbs + 2 sockets + 2 pin plug = $8)

Step 3

Paint Cupboard - alright people, for this task you "gotta" have patience and some artistic sense inside you(no, you dont have to be Da Vinci), Take time to stroke the brush and dont hesitate to use a lot of paint, too little paint will make it look shabby.

Step 4

Drill Hole in cupboard - Pretty simple if you have an electric drill, a little tiring if you have a hand drill and if you have nothing - nail it!! with a hammer, it'll work(make sure the wires fit in to the hole).

Step 5

Install Light sockets and wire them to a power source - You dont have to be an electrical engineer to figure this one out, just connect the wires to the two pin plug(purchased earlier). There'll be two wires only(in my case), try to get longer wires as you might need to extend it to the power source.(get the wires with colour coding - red and black)

Step 7

Light up cupboard and take pictures - this is the fun part where you can be proud of your handywork, dont forget to blog about it after you took the pictures!

And well there is an idea i would like to hold for now until i'm really sure and thats the installation of a switch.... (due to unforseen circumstances, the latest installation has been postponed)

(unforseen circumstances include - shorting one or more power sources in the room)

Salam Namaste 2007!

Enjoying the welcome of the new year with Eid mubarak is not something you experience quite often. The transition of 2006 to 2007 happens overnight, but what really makes the year memorable takes 365 days and a few hours here and there... 2006 had a lot in store for us(the world), most of them are not nice things ranging from poverty, wars, deaths, natural disasters, political disasters etc..... Some of you(the readers) might have experienced some of the above or experienced some of the better things(not mentioned above). Hopefully none of you experienced the above.

It always feels better to talk about it, share it, blog about it, be anonymous(who cares)...just get it off your chest...

2007

Hoping for the best to come for this year. Celebrations galore, had a small barbeque at home and then headed to "The Curve", was the nearest place where they would have the countdown and fireworks. It was great to see so many people in good spirit, waiting for the clock to strike 12. Arriving at just 11:45pm, we had enough time to get to the centre of all the crowd.

I guess my watch might have been a few minutes slow, as the fireworks shot into the sky like there was some spaceship fight in space from "Star Wars", it was a magnificent sight, full of "oooh's" and "aaah's". It all lasted for 10 mintues or so in the meantime me and my bro got some cans of those foam and spray and lets just say we let "hell loose" on anyone and everyone.

Eternal paradise can range from a glass of "Ais Limau" to sipping on coconut juice on the beach on some exotic island. If you think of it, its all in your head, enjoy the small things in life because they are worth it....

Wishing you all the best for the new year -

Happy New Year and Eid Mubarak
